Murrieta National Little League

Corona virus (COVID-19) Update

May 07, 2020

Good morning Murrieta National Little League ( MNLL) Families,

We would like to first apologize for the misinformation concerning the stay at home order in the last email. The order we meant to give you information on was the Riverside county health order by Dr. Kaiser not the state.

Now for some current and updated information. As mentioned before the MNLL board held a video meeting to discuss our options for the season after the Little League International (LLI) announcement.

What our board has decided to do in accordance with the county order which is in line with the city of Murrieta  is as follows:

The safety of our players, families and volunteers will be our main priority.

The MNLL board has set a cut of date of June 30th to try and work a season in. This is still within the recommendations set by our county and their deadline of June 19th( this will give us a bit of time for practices before we start games). Should we be allowed to get back sooner we will definitely do so once that information is made available to us and the city opens the fields up for us to use. The county is also currently meeting and those meetings will also have a big part on when we will be given an actual startup date.

Should the date of June 30th come around and we are still not cleared to play at that point, MNLL will be cancelling the season all together. At that time MNLL families will have a couple of choices in regards to the registration fees.

  1. A 50% credit to be used for either the Fall or next Springs season( based on your paid 2020 Spring registration) .
  2. A 35% refund based on the amount of your players paid 2020 Spring registration

A few things that the board considered while trying to figure out the refunds were the fees and items that MNLL had already paid and purchased for which we are unable to send back or get credited for as well as projects that we had completed and paid for prior to the lock down.

Note: As per our registration refund policy no refunds will be given after the Jan 18th deadline. Should we be allowed to continue our season in June and your player is unable to continue they will not be able request a refund or a credit.

Pictures: We have been in contact with the photograph company that we used for our picture and at this time they are still closed down as they are not considered and essential business. As soon as we are able to get all the pictures from them we will set up a pick up date and location.

Chocolate fundraiser: MNLL paid in advance for all of the chocolate bars that were purchased to be able to conduct our fundraiser. With the unexpected lock down we know that not all of your families were able to sell all of your bars. We will be setting a drop off date and location along with the pictures so that all UNOPENED boxes be turned in.  We intend to hold truth to our prizes and we will give those out once the winners are calculated. If you have open boxes we cannot return those, therefore we unfortunately cannot take those back.

We have just sent out (emailed) a survey to gauge where we will be with the players and the possible return. Your input is greatly needed in order for us to get good reading for moving forward with the season.

As the situation continues to develop, we will do our best to continue to keep you informed via email, our league website, and our Facebook page.

Thank you,
MNLL Board of Directors
